 The McAllen Independent School District Student Assessment Department’s vision is to provide guidelines and calendar of events for administration and ensure that accurate, timely, and relevant data is available to district and campus administration in order to measure student achievement of academic curriculum and excellence in effective teaching.

The tests include:

 

  • State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR™)
  • State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR™ ALT 2)
  • Texas English Language Proficiency Assessment System (TELPAS)
  • Texas English Language Proficiency Assessment System Alternate (TELPAS Alternate)
 

The McAllen Independent School District Student Assessment Department’s main goal is to maintain the security and confidentiality of the Texas Student Assessment Program, ensure valid test scores, provide standard and equal testing opportunities for all students and assist each campus in the implementation of the assessments program’s requirements at the local level.

The McAllen Independent School District Student Assessment Department’s main objective is to support incident free test administrations that have a positive impact on student performance.
