The McAllen ISD Instructional Materials and Student Records Department maintains all student academic achievement records/transcripts for former students that have graduated, transferred out of, or withdrawn from the McAllen I.S.D. five (5) years ago or more.
- Recent Graduates (WITHIN the last 5 years): All former student transcripts are retained at their respective campus for five (5) years after graduation or withdrawal. Please contact the school you last attended.
GED Graduates: GED Graduates may obtain a copy of their transcript through TEA’s GED Unit (512) 463-9292
All requests are processed in date order as received, once we receive the written request it may take approximately 2-10 business working days for records to be processed and released.
Requesting a Transcript for Yourself
School transcripts are considered confidential information and can only be picked up or mailed with proper authorization. A written request is needed accompanied by a copy of student’s Photo ID before any records can be researched or released.

Requesting Transcript for Someone Else
If you are an individual requesting a transcript for another person who is over 18 years of age, a written authorization is required from the “Owner of the Records” consenting the release of his/her records. Parents also need written permission and a Photo ID.
Universities and Employment Agencies in need of a verification should fax their request in writing, along with authorization from the “Owner of the Records” to 956.632.8848. Please be sure to include the following information to speed up the process:
- Name of Former Student (while attending school)
- Last School Attended
Unofficial Transcripts may be faxed at no cost. Official Transcripts are stamped and embossed with our district seal.

*Note: Under the Texas State Library and Archives Commission Local Schedules SD guidelines, the retention period for Elementary and Middle School records is seven (7) years after they last attended school, therefore, these records may no longer be available.
a) The academic achievement record (TEA form AAR-001) or its former equivalent used to record academic achievement in grades 9-12. RETENTION: PERMANENT.
b) Cumulative record of achievement in grades Pre-K through 8. RETENTION: SY + 7 years.
