Just call them the Quad Squad. The McAllen High School Mariachi Oro won its fourth consecutive state championship following competition this past weekend in San Antonio. They are champions for Class 6A after winning at the TAME (Texas Association of Mariachi Educators) State Finals held Feb. 3-4 at the South San Antonio High Performing Arts

McAllen ISD will be sending two high school mariachi teams to the highest level. Both McAllen High and James “Nikki” Rowe High will be competing at the state level in mariachi. They both have advanced to the TAME (Texas Association of Mariachi Educators) State Finals to be held February 3-4 in San Antonio.
