The summit will feature keynote speakers and breakout sessions from 8 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 18, at Rowe High. Sessions will be in both English and Spanish.
The summit’s panel will include Dr. Ricardo Irizarry, Dr. German Corso, Dr. Daniel Gutierrez and Dr. Adrian Agapito. Some of the topics to be covered include anxiety, mental health and wellness, bereavement, eating disorders, childhood depression and ADHD.
McAllen ISD is organizing the event in partnership with Tropical Texas Behavioral Health, Doctor’s Hospital at Renaissance Behavioral Hospital and South Texas Health System Behavioral.
McAllen ISD also works with these health partners as part of its Family Treatment Program. The program, which began in 2008, offers a variety of mental health resources for students and their families.
