De Leon Robotics Team presents inclusive park project to city leaders

Students on the Robotics Team at De Leon Middle School presented their project to McAllen city leaders March 2. For the project, students had to research ways to improve their community. They came up with an indoor city park that would be inclusive for children with special needs. The team also recently won two first-place trophies for Robot Performance and the Champion’s Award at a FIRST Lego League competition. The members of the team include Kinich Sierra, Ethan Gonzalez, Sadie Garza, Leila Pena, Nicholas Gomez, Roberto Rivera, Marilyn Lavida, Gwyndelynn Coe and Kaylie Perez.
