**NEW** Universal Pre-K Program

What is universal Pre-K?
Universal Pre-K allows children who do not meet state eligibility requirements to participate in Pre-K.  Your child must be 4 years old on or before September 1 of the year they enter school.

Are all campuses offering universal Pre-K?
Not currently.  For the 2020-2021 school year, there are five (5) campuses that have universal Pre-K seats.  These are:
Bonham Elementary  - 22 seats

How do I know if I qualify for Pre-K?
You can reach out to the Student Outreach Team to discuss your situation and for assistance in determining eligibility.  Between traditional Pre-K, universal Pre-K, and our tuition program, McAllen ISD has a program that is right for your family!

Do I have to live in McAllen to attend Pre-K in the district?
No. McAllen ISD is a district of choice.  You can live anywhere and take advantage of our high quality educational opportunities.  If you are transferring from another district, please visit our transfer page for more information.
