As everyone knows, the 2026-2027 school year is quickly approaching, and there’s no better way to start than by having a strong plan and clear expectations! 💪📅
Below you will find our 2026-2027 Fossum Athletics & Spirit Calendar. All athletic programs are organized into five different phases throughout the school year to help student-athletes and families prepare for each season.
⚠️ Please note:
* 📣 Spirit (Cheer) is the only year-round program and participates throughout the entire school year.
* 🏈⚽🏀🏐🎾🏃♂️ All other UIL middle school sports have approximately a two-month competitive season before transitioning to the next sport according to the UIL calendar.
🚨 UIL & McAllen ISD Requirements (Strictly Enforced):
✅ A current UIL physical is required before participating in any athletic activity.
✅ Rank One forms must be completed and approved before your student-athlete can practice or compete.
❌ No Physical + No Rank One = No Participation. There are no exceptions to this UIL regulation.
We encourage all families to review the calendar, plan ahead, and make sure all required paperwork is completed as early as possible to avoid missing any part of the season.

Last Friday we hosted our final cheer dinner. under UIL sport calendar our cheer team have been in season Since July. A Special thanks to our cheer parents for coming together as a family to support this event❤️ #wearefossum
🦅 Our Fossum family is going through a difficult time, and we are asking our community to come together to support two of our beloved staff members who have each recently lost their fathers. Both are incredibly dedicated members of our campus who have given so much of themselves to our students, our teams, and our school family. As they take time away to be with their loved ones, they are in need of our support. At Fossum, we are more than coworkers — we are family. If you are able to help in any way, it would mean the world to them and to all of us. Thank you for keeping their families in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. ❤️
Golf is a game of patience, focus, and perseverance — and our girls embody all of that and more. Win or lose, they represent Fossum with grace and heart, and we couldn't be more proud to call them Falcons! 🏌️♀️❤️
