Gifted and Talented Summer Testing for New Enrollees 2024-2025

Students "new to McAllen ISD", who will be enrolling for Fall 2024, will be testing in the beginning of June . Students "new to McAllen ISD" are students enrolling from Out of District, Out of State, Private/Home School.

Parents are encouraged to click on the Google Link to complete the Form for Summer Gifted and Talented Testing. Parents can submit all requested documents to karen.nitsch@mcallenisd.net. Our office will be calling you to schedule an appointment during the first three weeks of July 2024.

Application and Testing Process

1st - 8th Grade Students	Requirements	Testing Dates	Tests Administered
Students transferring from private, charter or home schools	Proof of enrollment in a McAllen ISD School for 2023-2024 SY. Completed "Gifted and Talented Nomination Student Information Form" Completed "Teacher Observation Form" from current teacher. Report Card for 23-24 Achievement Test Scores (Iowa) for the 2023-2024 and 2022-2023 SY Incomplete packet will not be considered	Week of June 3 - June 13 . Parents will be notified of actual time/date and location of testing for specific grade level.	Cognitive Abilities Test IOWA Reading and Math Achievement Tests Logramos Reading and Math Achievement Tests for emergent bilinguals.
Students previously identified Gifted and Talented in another district.	Proof of enrollment in a McAllen ISD school for the 2024-2025 School Year. Completed "Gifted and Talented Nomination Student Information Form" Copy of student's GT testing profile with scores indicating GT identification from a former school district.	Week of June 3 - June 13 . Parents will be notified of actual time/date and location of testing for specific grade level.
