The McAllen Independent School District Office of Legal Counsel provides legal services to the Board of Trustees, Superintendent, and any other District employee in the course and scope of their employment. The Office of Legal Counsel CANNOT ADVISE PARENTS/GUARDIANS; It represents the District as a whole and not individuals.
The Office of Legal Counsel is responsible for the management of legal services for the District and for providing legal representation in all matters involving the District. The Office of Legal Counsel provides comprehensive legal services in the area of compliance with federal, state, and local law, Board policies, the interpretation of laws, employee training, contract review, compliance with the Texas Public Information Act, representation of the District in administrative hearings before the Board of Trustees and court hearings in a court of law.
