Texas Transition - A Bridge to the Future

INFORMATION FOR STUDENTS AND PARENTS

Accessing the Online Transition and Employment Guide
The Transition and Employment Guide is for you, the student in Texas public schools, who may have received special education services due to a disability. It also provides helpful information for your parents. This guide has steps for you and your parents to explore in order to ensure that you are able to find the right work or educational options for you after high school. It also tells you where to get the services you will need after high school. Each section has phone numbers, emails, and websites to help you find what you need. At the end of each section and at the end of the guide, you will find a timeline of steps that you and your parents can take as you make the transition from student to adult. If you have questions about this guide or the information in it, please send the Texas Education Agency an email at
sped@tea.state.tx.us. Another source for information and questions, or help in accessing the guide, is your school district’s Transition Contact: Josie Reyes, email Transition Employment Services Designee
