 If you are a COVID-19 Field Response Employee

  1. WORKING HOURS: Scheduled work hours are Monday thru Friday based on your regular work hours and will follow the district’s 19-20 Board approved school calendar.  Work hours and guidelines below are subject to change to meet operational requirements. You will be paid regular time for your hours at home. 
  1. If you are called into perform on-site work, you must report to work and clock-in to assist the district in meeting operational requirements. You will be paid premium pay for your hours on-site. 
  1. Employees are expected to follow City of McAllen, Hidalgo County, and CDC guidelines to stay safe and be available to work.

If you are NOT an employee identified as a COVID-19 Field Response Employee

  1. WORKING HOURS: Unless otherwise approved in advance by your Supervisor, you are expected to work from home. Scheduled work hours are Monday thru Friday based on your regular work hours and will follow the district’s 19-20 Board approved school calendar. Work hours and guidelines below are subject to change to meet operational requirements. You will be paid regular time for your hours at home.
  2. Staff members may opt to work from outside the RGV as long as they are accessible via technology and telephone during working hours. However, we encourage all staff members to work from within the RGV while in this virtual environment.

          i.     Employees must communicate with their supervisor in advance of leaving the RGV in case their local presence is necessary for operational support reasons.

ABSENCES for all employees:

If an employee is not going to be accessible, or he/she will be unable to perform their duties during working hours, they will follow normal absence and leave policies established by the district and must coordinate this absence in advance with their supervisor. 

Depending on the duration of the absence, the employee may be required to take ½ day, full day or more depending on the request. 

a.     PERSONAL LEAVE - Employees need to communicate with their supervisor if they are taking personal days and/or are unable or unavailable to perform their duties. Normal personal leave procedures in Policy DEC (Local) apply. Employee must call in their absence.

b.     SICK LEAVE - Employees need to communicate with their supervisor if they are sick and are unable or unavailable to perform their duties. Normal sick leave procedures in Policy DEC (Local) apply. Employee must call in their absence.
