Robert Flores, the Head Football Coach and Athletic Coordinator for James “Nikki” Rowe High School, has been selected for a high leadership position with a state body.

Flores has been selected to serve on the Board of Directors for the Texas High School Coaches Association (THSCA).

Joe Martin, THSCA Executive Director, sent a letter to the district.

“Coach Flores was elected by the members of the THSCA representing his region and will be a great asset to our board,” Mr. Martin wrote. “Coach Flores is very well respected by his peers, and we look forward to working with him this year as we continue our mission of ‘Helping Coaches Help Kids.’ Congratulations again on having one of your district leaders move to the forefront of his profession and lead our association into a new school year.”

McAllen ISD Athletic Director Brian McClenny praised Coach Flores.  

We would like to congratulate Coach Robert Flores on being named to the Board of Directors for the Texas High School Coaches Association,” McClenny said. “Coach Flores is an outstanding leader who will represent James ‘Nikki’ Rowe High School, McAllen ISD and our region in this important leadership role. Coach Flores' philosophy is directly aligned to the mission of the THSCA, ‘Helping Coaches Help Kids.’  We are blessed to have Coach Flores leading our coaches and student athletes in McAllen ISD.” 

Flores is entering his sixth year as Head Football Coach and Athletic Coordinator with the Warriors.
